Accessing Meudon site

  • The observatory is located place Jules Janssen in Meudon at the end of the avenue du Château.
    Access details

  • Special bus service : During the conference, a special bus service will be available between the Paris Montparnasse station and the Meudon Observatory. The exact schedule will be advertized with the calendar.

  • Two ways to access by train:
    • From the station Montparnasse in Paris, take the local trains which go in the direction of Sévres Rive gauche or more rarely in the direction of Versailles-construction sites, Rambouillet, Charters, etc.....
      • 3rd stop: Meudon (after Vanves-Malakoff and Clamart). Go out of the station, go to the right, make 200m, turn again to the right then go straight towards the summit of the hill.
      • 4th stop: Meudon-Bellevue. To the left by going out of the station, take the avenue of the Castle which rises sloping sweet. The entrance of the Observatory is at the end.
    • Line C of the RER :
      Take the trains of the RER-C which go in the direction of Versailles Rive gauche and come down in station of Meudon-Val Fleury. It is necessary to go towards Meudon and not towards Clamart (it's better to ask its road). The ascent lasts 15 to 20 minutes on feet.
    • Details of SNCF lines

  • metro and bus :
    Use the line 12 (Porte de la Chapelle Mairie d'Issy). In the terminus City hall of Issy, take the bus 169 in the direction of the Bridge of Sévres and go down at Place Rabelais or Eglise de Meudon stop.
